General Discussion / Re: Magnet method with thimble
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:22:17 PM »
Hi just found an office supply shop today that stored thimbles. They only had size 0, but that works ok for me. I had one small disc shaped magnet lying around and it works like a charm in channel 31.

Hi seems to be a great idea. Can you tell me the diameter of the thimble you use and the size of the magnets?

Thanks

Hi Mario, the crackle box (or Kraakbox, in Dutch) is sound device with touch sensor and indeed works with closing the circuits. Really gives you some unexpected sound eruptures ;-). Just have a look at wikipedia for some interesting links (even one for a DIY crackle box).https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kraakdoos

Because I bought this one from the original inventor's organization (STEIM), I rather not hack it. But your info on the signal of the pickups could come in handy when experimenting with other devices.

General Discussion / Re: How to use the magnetic sensor - ring?

Hi Mario, wholeflaffer, thanks for the response. Will have a look on ebay (or the Dutch equivalent Marktplaats) for those rings.
@Maria, hope you will get some time in the near future to restore the channels. Keep up the good work ; -)

General Discussion / How to use the magnetic sensor - ring?
« on: July 15, 2017, 02:34:36 PM »
Hi just wondering. I read that with a magnetic ring you can activate the magnetic sensor.
Two questions:
- is it possible to activate it with any magnet or should you be careful in how strong the magnet is?
- does anyone have a link for buying a magnetic ring which can be used without a problem?

Thanks, Jan

Hi guys, mine arrived a few days back as well.  Really looks great, Mario. Have not been able to fiddle around with it very much, but I already had a lot of fun experimenting with channel 342 and input with my Crackle Box. Two nice wooden boxex  :D
